So we’ve learned how to make some attacks
now we need to know how to protect our legs. Right? Cause that’s a big thing. If nobody
can score any points on you how are they going to beat ya? yeah. Yeah. And a lot of defensive
positions you can actually score off of. You know, if they take a bad shot, you know. Or
they get a little sloppy on their finish then if you have good hips and you learn how to
use those hips then you are going to be able to capitalize on a lot of their bad situations
and you’ll end up scoring on them. K, so when I ‘m protecting my legs I want to have my
hands here and my head ready and everything and I’m sure a lot of you guys have learned
just a traditional sprawl where you’re like here. Here, right, I’m sure everybody’s learned
that at some point. Kay, this one’s not too different I just want to be turning my hip
and I want to smash his head with my hip as he’s coming in. K, so if I’m protecting this
leg, k, I’m going to put my hands on the mat but I’m going to slide this leg back. See
how I’m coming down heavy there? Now, from here, I’m going to circle the way that my
toes are pointing. So my toes are pointed out that way so I’m going to circle around.
I’m going to just keep going with that. So I’m just going to keep coming and circle around
here. So that’s the drill. Kay, you’ve got a lead leg. You know he’s going to shoot.
Boom. You hip down. I’ve got good balance with my hands and I’m just circling around
here. The reason I’m circling is, one is to come around him if he stays there. Two if
he doesn’t, if he comes back out, then I’m going to circle up to my feet and be ready
for another attack. Ok? So, again, I’m in my stance, moving, whatever. He takes a shot,
boom, and then I’m circling up. Kay, he takes another shot, boom, I’m circling up. Ok? So
go do that for a few minutes then we’ll come back in and we’ll work on getting in on somebody
when they’re making an attack. Ok? Ready, let’s hit, one, two (clap).
