MAJOR WWE Royal Rumble Rumor Shot Down?! NEW Betting FAVORITE! | WrestleTalk News Jan. 2018

September 2, 2019

Hello and welcome to the WrestleTalk News
– I’m Wonder Oli, and I’ve got some super news! Because Wonder Oli’s a superhero. Super news. It’s a solid pun. Support! After working on it for way too long, me,
Luke, James and everyone here at WrestleTalk are very proud to be launching
today – which will not only have full article versions of the WrestleTalk News so you don’t
have to listen to my annoying voice, but also loads of articles on the latest wrestling
news, reviews, Royal Rumble predictions, everything you need to know ahead of this weekend’s
big New Japan shows, and more. Head over to right now…
actually wait until you’ve finished watching this video first… by clicking the link in
the description below. Where as a launching treat, you can watch
the time Luke and I visited a wrestling action figure warehouse in a video previously only
exclusive to the WrestleTalk Magazine. Of course, we’ll be covering all the biggest
potential rumors, surprises and spoilers this Royal Rumble weekend. Royal Rumble news like… people denying they’ll
be there. Ronda Rousey Denies Royal Rumble Debut
Ever since last Summer, former UFC Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey has been rumored to
debut in WWE, which peaked during the Mae Young Classic tournament, where Rousey and
her MMA Four Horsewomen Shayna Baszler, Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir staged several angles
facing off against the WWE Four Horsewomen of Charlotte, Sasha Banks, Bayley and Becky
Lynch. Ronda and Duke reportedly started wrestling
training, and Baszler reached the Mae Young Classic finals. All seemed set for the MMA faction to debut
in WWE. But the Horsewomen vs Horsewomen match reports
cooled off, with Vince McMahon supposedly losing interest in the idea when he found
out there were no contracts with the MMA women in place. Baszler has since signed, and is actually
challenging for the NXT Women’s title this Saturday, but Duke and Shafir appear to be
classified as obsolete. Rousey, however, is still heavily rumored
to debut for WWE before WrestleMania, and possibly at this weekend’s Royal Rumble. Further supporting those reports, Rousey was
caught having dinner with Triple H in LA two weeks ago by TMZ, which The Game later confirmed
to ESPN: “We are talking to Ronda, as we’ve been for a while.” Keep that quote in mind when compared to Hunter’s
response to CBS Sports just a month earlier about the Ronda to WWE rumors: “that’s news
to me because I’m the one who would be having that conversation.” Triple H is, of course, playing the game. And we wouldn’t have it any other way. But it’s certainly something to be mindful
of when considering what Rousey told TMZ yesterday about a potential Royal Rumble appearance:
“I’m actually leaving to Colombia right now to finish shooting ‘Mile 22’ and won’t
be back until mid February… no, I haven’t signed anything regardless of what anyone’s
said. No pen to paper for me.” Mile 22 is an action movie starring Mark Wahlberg,
which is actually filming in Colombia. But whether that really rules Ronda out of
Sunday’s Rumble match remains to be seen. New Royal Rumble Betting Favorites
The ‘smart money’ – bets placed by people with actual insider knowledge – doesn’t
come in until just hours before pay-per-views start, so take the new Royal Rumble betting
favorites with a large grain of salt… and also possibly a pillow to scream into. Because Oddschecker is listing Roman Reigns
as the current favorite to win the Rumble match, followed by Shinsuke Nakamura, John
Cena, Braun Strowman and Finn Balor. Daniel Bryan meanwhile – who jumped into the
Top 5 from outta nowhere last week – has slipped back down to 50/1. Support! And that was the news. So you’re now free to visit
and delight in all the written word and video wonders on its hallowed pages. News, reviews, features, videos of me and
Luke annoying a wrestling toy warehouse owner, New Japan previews and so much more. Click the link in the video description below
or the ‘i’ above my head to Support now! Seriously, I’ll wait. For a bit, at least. I want to go and see
that film where Liam Neeson beats up a train. I’m Oli Davis, and that was wrestling.
