Tonight we played a great match and always kept our focus. We knew before the game that it was going to be a difficult match because Juventus is one of the toughest teams to face. We never gave up and in the end I reckon that we definitely deserved to win the game. To be honest even before Cuadrado was sent off I was calm and confident that we could take home the three points, because I saw the team well placed on the pitch and everybody was focused on winning the match. I feel sorry for Immobile, I thought he was unlucky because Szczęsny made two incredible saves. He should have been awarded with another penalty because to me Bonuncci’s tackle on him was a clear foul. Bonucci was inside the penalty box when he tackled Immobile, we could have been leading 3-1 without having to score in stoppage time. But to be honest after that Juve went down to ten men we were never in danger of losing the lead. I think that we played a great first half with the big disappointment of not leading the score at the break. This was probably one the our best performance regarding the balance between attacking and defensive plays and in terms of possession of the ball in the right areas, that’s why it was a pity not to be leading at half time. In the second half, before Cuadrado was sent off by the referee, the game was stuck and we had the only clear chance to score with Dybala and Ronaldo all alone in front of the goal. Afterwards obviously Lazio had most of the chances but overall I saw a good performance from the team, definitely a better display than the ones from previous games. Lazio is a great team but by now everyone knows they play good football. Some think of them as a physical team but they are more than that, as they have lots of skilled players and they surely have a lot of potential. Last year it was a surprise not to see them go in the Champions League. That’s why I’m not surprised to see them play this kind of football at these levels of intensity. They are in great shape, both physically and mentally, and as it happens in football when you play good it’s likely that things go your way. We had periods of time where when we scored the first goal of the match we tended to shut off and usually conceded almost immediatly the levelling goal. But tonight was not the case as we played the whole match focused as I asked the lads before the game. Unfortunately we conceded a goal right before half time, but from what I saw we came back on the pitch with the right attitude, maybe with less intensity than the first half but before the sending off we were on point. Of course when you are down to ten men the game becomes more complicated than expected and given the features of our attacking players it was even more difficult for us. But I can say for sure that tonight’s performance was way better than the one against Sassuolo were we drew 2-2. In comparison with two years ago the level of the teams here in Italy has grown a lot. Now also the smaller teams try to win diffiult games against big sides because they have great qualities moving the ball and what not. We can say with certainty that our league is improving a lot. If we as a team are performing worse than previous years I honestly don’t know and don’t really care. What I really care about is to concede less goals and to win every match we play. I agree with you when you say that we are able to express our idea of football only in stages of the game and we know we have to work on that aspect.
