Hero bystanders wrestle with London Bridge knifeman before police shoot him

 Terrifying footage captured the moment hero bystanders held down and disarmed the London Bridge knifeman before he was shot by police  A series of videos recorded at the scene in central London seem to detail the minutes leading up to the moment the man was fired upon  Astonishingly, in one video of the incident, a number of members of public can be seen wrestling with the suspect on the floor  In the 45-second recording, a man retreats from the scene with the suspect’s knife after he has been disarmed  In a second video, police can be seen pulling a man in civilian clothes off the suspect just seconds before shots are heard  Do you know any of the hero members of the public who helped? Email [email protected]rror co.uk  Although the suspected knifeman’s condition is unknown, reports suggest he is dead  Police have said they are treating the incident as if it is terror-related.  Witnesses reported hearing up to 10 gunshots with people fleeing the scene in London this afternoon  One claimed there was “a man running around with a knife and been shot in London bridge outside my office just witnessed with my own eyes (sic)”  Another witness said: “I’m about a 3/4 mile from London Bridge and could hear the gunshots – lots of them  “Seem to have stopped. Sirens wailing now. Hope people are ok.”  A cordon has been set up at Borough Market while evacuation continues from nearby shops and businesses  Videos and photographs on Twitter showed several police cars and buses on the bridge and a truck straddling several lanes  London’s ambulance service said it had declared it a major incident and they had sent several crews to the scene  Bomb Squad vans were among a fleet of emergency service vehicles at the scene.  At least two police helicopters were spotted overhead  Prime Minister Boris Johnson said: “I’m being kept updated on the incident at London Bridge and want to thank the police and all emergency services for their immediate response ”  Home Secretary Priti Patel has tweeted: “Very concerned by ongoing incident at London Bridge My thoughts are with all affected.  “I am grateful for the rapid response of our police and I urge everyone to follow their advice ”  An earlier statement by the Met Police says: “Police were called at 1:58pm to a stabbing at premises near to London Bridge  “Emergency services attended, including officers from the Met and @CoLP   “A man has been detained by police We believe a number of people have been injured.
