High-intensity, high impact, no forgiveness,
that’s a simple way to put it. When you step on the mat you
can throw, or you can be thrown. You can get hit, or you can hit them. Wrestling was my first sport.
It has always interested me because it’s always been the
toughest thing I’ve ever had to do. After wrestling, everything else seemed to
be easy until I joined the Marine Corps. And now joining the Marine Corps and being an All-
Marine wrestler it is the hardest thing I’ve had to do, and the most rewarding at the same time. What I do is I fight. I fight every time
I’m on the mat, it’s considered a fight. And I fight for everything that I believe in
and what the Marine Corps stands for. All of our standards, all the customs and courtesies. Being an All-Marine wrestler, being able
to compete at such a high level and being granted this opportunity is something
that kids can only dream about sometimes.
