A Football League just for Kids | India Plays – S1E04

*KIDS CHEERING* *PARENTS CHEERING* Come on…lets get a win. Just having the ball in their feet…
they really enjoy. Hi Hello Most of them always wants to score. They always wanted to be like
Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Thank you. In any sport if you look, especially in football,
you need muscle memory. The kids, they have to
start very young. If you look at other countries, they start coaching
kids at the age of four or five. But in India this is
just a new initiative. Sit. They just call parents asking if they were
interested in enrolling their kids. And we are very happy, because both of them
are really interested in football. We just let them express and
play by themselves. Slowly we will try to make them
understand what is wrong. Small kids they have a sharp mind so they
can grasp things easily. That’s why if we teach them
right from the beginning… When they are kids, gradually they will
learn when they become adults. Some of them are really mature, so they
know how to play, they know football. But some of them they will be sitting
there or they will be in their own world. Sometimes their parents are there, so
they just go back to their parents… Asking for water and all while
the game is going on. And we cannot stop them because
they are kids. The first game that they played, my son
also played,he wasn’t that good. But after playing so many matches, he has improved a lot and he has also scored a lot of goals. I think for kids, the mental fitness is the
main thing, Both mental and physical. *KIDS CHEERING* Football is a physical game, so I make them understand that in the field these minor injuries will always happen. They don’t even bother when they fall down,
and we don’t even pamper them. We teach them to get up on their own,
stand up and learn to fight again. Even if they win the match or they score goals,
we don’t praise them too much… But we teach them to work harder so that
they can achieve bigger goals. Most of the clubs are realising now that
grassroots is the way forward. So most of the clubs now are starting
with the grassroots recruitment. I – League also conducts these U-14, U-17
and U-19 Leagues, which is very good. And by the time they reach the right age they will be
equipped with all the basic skills to be a good footballer. Shoot. And I hope this baby league creates more players,
more talented players for the future.
